Porcelain moon jar with zig-zag pattern. 12cms high, 12cms wide. Moon jars are a Korean tradition of making very round pots inspired by a full moon. Wheel-thrown porcelain with cut-paper decoration in cobalt slip and a wood-ash glaze.
About the maker
Martin Tyler makes wheel-thrown stoneware and porcelain. Inspiration from foreign travel, sketchbooks and photographs is central to his creative process. Decoration makes use of paper and brushwork resist, combing and sprigging and colour is introduced through the use of clay slips. Tableware is all oven, microwave and dishwasher safe.
